Why is pack walkin critical for your dog's health?

PACK WALKING IS CRITICAL FOR YOUR DOG’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING AND HERE’S WHY:

Humans can be confusing for dogs. First of all, we speak a different language. Often, we are inconsistent in our demands. Often this leads to dogs suffering from anxiety through the constant fear of failing their human pack. Imagine going to a foreign country where you didn't speak the language and trying to succeed in a job where you didn't know the rules or what they wanted you to do. It would be unsettling to say the least. Then Imagine coming home and having everyone speak the same language with a clear set of rules to follow. How much more enjoyable would that be? That's how it is for your dog. Being in a pack is so natural for your dog, it takes them back to their wild roots, back to where they began. They speak the same language, enjoy the same things, have relationships with dogs they connect with. These are a few of the huge benefits of having your dog walked on a regular weekly basis in a pack.

BENEFITS

WHAT OUR HAPPY CLIENTS SAY ABOUT OUR PACK WALKS

BENEFITS TO YOUR FAMILY

NO GUILT: Imagine not feeling guilty leaving your best friend with their big sad eyes staring up at you as you close the door heading to work, knowing they are going to have an absolute ball (literally) out in nature, getting fresh air as well as mental, physical and emotional stimulation.

LESS STRESS: Most women have a to-do list that is a mile long. Psychologically we know that having a long list of tasks to do, especially when it involves those we care care about can create a lot of stress if we are pressed for time, or feel like there is not enough time in the day to get everything done. Having the responsibility of your dog's walks taken off your shoulders automatically reduces stress because you know they are enjoying life, having all of their needs met and you are part of their happiness by organising their walks. This allows you to feel like you are succeeding in life, instead of constantly letting those you love down. That's a beautiful gift we can give you.

REDUCED VET BILLS: We all know how beneficial exercise is for us and our pets. Exercise not only will reduce your dog’s anxiety, but could potentially reduce vet bills as your dog ages. We all know that a healthy body means less illness and therefore fewer trips to the vet.

JOY: Imagine a smile tugging at your cheeks when you receive a text at work. It’s a beautiful photo or video of your beloved dog frolicking on the beach with their doggie friends and it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and it reminds you about how much you love your beloved pooch and how much happiness they bring into you and your family's life.

PEACE OF MIND: Imagine coming home and feel relief knowing your dog has already been taken care of, so you can sit back and relax. It’s one less thing for you to do.

MORE TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY: Having your dog walked on a regular basis allows you to concentrate on time with your family. Creating memories and feeling happy that you have more time to share precious moments.

A HAPPY AND BALANCED DOG: When your dog is out in nature, running freely across the sand, playing with other dogs and humans and enjoying life, they are in their natural state. Having these experiences on a regular weekly basis will help to maintain your dog’s mental state and we have seen many mental disorders reduced or eliminated from regular pack walking with other dogs which is great for the peace and harmony in your family life and home.

BENEFITS TO YOUR DOG

10x MORE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: Through playing, chasing and exploring with friends. Dogs on pack walks expend many more times the energy than on a solo walk. This means a calm mind and body for when you return home from work and a dog that is joyfully relaxed and tired on your return home.

IMPROVED BEHAVIOUR: Humans tend to be very confusing in their communication. Dogs understand other dogs and bad behaviours are quickly corrected within the pack by more mature dogs. These corrections transfer to when you are out walking your dog with your family.

BALANCED MENTAL STATE: Like humans, dogs are susceptible to mental imbalances, such as OCD, separation anxiety amongst others. When your dog is out in nature, running freely across the sand, playing with other dogs and humans and enjoying life, they are in their natural state. Having these experiences on a regular weekly basis will help to maintain your dog’s mental state and we have seen many mental disorders reduced or eliminated from regular pack walking with other dogs.

INCREASED CONFIDENCE: More confidence and tolerance around different breeds of dogs means more peace of mind for you and a more pleasant walk when you take your dog out solo.

FRIENDS: Dogs are social creatures. They are not meant to stay at home all day on their own. It’s very unnatural and can cause many issues for your beloved friend. Having a set of doggie friends that they see regularly, is very balancing for your dog. These additional canine relationships add another level of joy to their lives, like healthy friendships we have as humans. You are giving your dog the gift of an extended friendship base that increases their joy and happiness levels.

FAST-TRACKS PUPPY TRAINING: Great for puppies and younger dogs to learn to socialise and learn doggie etiquette and good behaviours from older dogs.

INCREASED CONFIDENCE FOR OLDER DOGS: Often older dogs are set in their ways and owner's believe that you can't teach old dog's new tricks. This is not so. Often, as bonds are formed between dogs and trust builds, older dogs can take on a new lease of life, enjoy frolicking in the waves with their younger playmates. We have had many occasions where younger dogs have taught older dogs who have had a lifelong fear of the water how to swim! And this has happened on many occasions. Dogs will mirror other dog's behaviour and see there is nothing to fear and old patterns are erased. How beautiful is that?

Rochelle. D

I was always nervous about letting Chloe off the lead at the park. Recently we met 6 other dogs when she was on the lead and she was so lovely toward them. She's never done than on lead and would always bark and lunge at them. Thank you!

Sally D.

I saw a Paws in the Park dog walker out in our local park with around 8 dogs who were all having the time of their lives! I work long hours and have two small dogs, so I thought it would be great for them to socialise with other dogs. Three times a week PITP collect my dogs and when I get home they are more tired and very very happy!
I always thought of dog walking as one on one service but going out with the group is the best all-round entertainment for your dog!

We've been with Paws in the Park twice now, when work has gotten in the way of regular dog walks. They have exceeded our expectations every time! Very mature, personable walkers who often update us during the day on how our Hugo is going.

READ MORE ABOUT WHY PACK WALKING IS SO GOOD FOR YOUR DOG IN KIRSTY'S BOOK...

Kirsty has always had a curious mind and is intrigued by dog psychology and behaviour. After many group session walking up to 15 dogs a time, Kirsty was fascinated by their interactions and how the pack was organised in order to maintain the hierarchy and peaceful interactions between dogs.

After many years of experience interacting and observing dogs within the group dog walking environment and much reading and education on the psychology of dogs, Kirsty decided to write her own book to help others not only to understand their dog, but to connect to the heart of the dog and create a loving, nurturing and rewarding relationship with their beloved pet.

This book aligns perfectly with the business vision of helping humans connect to their heart through the unconditional love of animals.

Enjoy! Kirsty x
